Uruguay Enforces Nationwide Outdoor Burning Restrictions

From 1 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, Uruguay implemented its annual nationwide ban on outdoor fires and burning to reduce wildfire risks during the high-risk season. The restriction covers rural and other outdoor areas, with specific exceptions governed by the applicable rules. No dedicated enforcement budget was announced. The measure creates opportunities in fire prevention, environmental monitoring and sustainable agricultural-waste management. HPC can support ESG assessments, environmental-risk planning and sustainability advisory.
